Objective

Following these steps will connect you to your virtual desktop through vdi.msu.edu.

Environment

Before You Begin

A valid CampusAD account is required for access to the Virtual Desktop Environment. Only users who are in CampusAD and have been granted rights to virtual desktops can access this system.

Steps

  1. Go to https://vdi.msu.edu (link) and log in using your MSU NetID and password (Enter two-factor Authentication code if off campus or connected to VPN).
  2. After logging in, you should see the virtual desktops available to you.
  3. Click on your virtual desktop.
  4. If prompted to grant web browser permissions to launch an external application, please grant permission.
  5. Also agree to have your web browser remember your choice from this screen.
  6. You will see the Horizon View Client load and a Windows loading screen.
  7. You're done! You now have a virtual desktop.
