Body
Access to most MSU Library Electronic Resources (aka E-resources, e-journals, medical and research journals online, etc.) is automatically controlled by the EZproxy service. When necessary for licensing compliance, a user is prompted for their NetID credentials.
If you experience a log-in failure when trying to access Library E-resources, you may not currently be eligible for access. Sometimes this ineligibility is temporary (such as when a former or graduated student becomes a staff person) and clears up. Other times a user simply no longer meets the eligibility requirements, which are listed at https://lib.msu.edu/rds/offcampusaccess (link).
For further questions or assistance regarding access to Library E-resources, contact Discovery Services at 517-353-8700 or use their contact form (link).
Many online journals and publications are available for review when accessed from a device located on the campus network and will not specifically require access via EXproxy. However, access from off-campus will require Library E-resources / EZproxy. Use of the MSU VPN will not substitute for being directly on campus.
