Mobile Device Support - How to setup VMware View Client on an iPad

Objective

Following these steps will install and configure the VMware Horizon Client on an iPad.

Steps

1. You will want to open your App Store, and type in VMware Horizon Client on the top right of the screen. After you have located the app, touch Install.
2. Once you hit Install, it will prompt you to enter in your Apple ID password.
3. Next you will need to setup the client. Touch VMware View to open the app.
4. Then select Add View Connection Server.
5. Enter in vdi.hc.msu.edu for the host name. Then touch Connect.
6. You will then need to enter in your HIT network account information:
   • Username:Network Username
   • Password:Network Password
   • Domain:Change it from ECHTHC to MSUFGP.
7. After you have entered your settings, you will see a list of one or more available options, touch the name of the option that applies to you.
8. The option you selected will then be loaded, and you will be automatically logged on.
   In order to gain access to a keyboard once you're in the virtual desktop, you can access it through the black dot at the side of the screen; touching the dot will open a menu displaying options like the keyboard, trackpad, disconnect, and help.
