OS and Applications Available

The Health College Labs are currently utilizing Microsoft Windows 10 operating system with the following applications available:

  • Microsoft Office 2016
  • Adobe Reader
  • VLC Player
  • VH Dissector Pro
  • Biolucida Viewer
  • LabTutor Suite
  • LabChart
  • Examsoft (Testing software)
  • Various secure browsers

How to Logon

The Health College Computer Labs are on the Health College Active Directory domain.  Faculty/Staff/Students that use these spaces will need to logon with their Health College credentials.  Typically this takes the form of:

<username>@hc.msu.edu or MSUFGP\<username>

Workstation Security

The Health College Labs data security is being provided by a combination of monthly OS and application security patches.  In addition, DeepFreeze is utilized in the labs to maintain the steady state of systems.  The utility functions by returning a systems to a known good state after each time a workstation is rebooted.

Accessing Health College and Radiology File Shares

To access the health college file shares type the following into the Windows Explorer.

\\hc.msu.edu\shares\<college initials>

To access Radiology file shares type the following into the Windows Explorer

\\babylon.rad.msu.edu\shared
