Installing the Citrix Client

Citrix should be available to download and install from either JAMF (Mac) or the Software Center (Windows). If the installation is not there or fails, please reboot and try one more time. If you still cannot install Citrix you will need assistance from your local IT. The IT Service Desk can help connect you with them.

Accessing Citrix Applications

  1. Log in to Citrix with your MSU NetID account credentials with the campusad.msu.edu domain.
  2. Double-click the application in the Citrix apps tab. The application wil be downloaded in the downloads folder; double click the downloaded file to open the Citrix application.
  3. For Power Builder - please keep the password handy which the database admin has sent through MSU FileDepot.

Saving a Report from Power Builder in Citrix

First map network drives to the new shared drive locations:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Right-click on This PC from the left side panel and choose Map Network Drive.
  3. Click Finish.
  4. Enter the msufgp credentials to connect to the fileshare.msu.edu shared location.

Then run the report from the application:

  1. Open the Power Builder application in Citrix and run the report to save.
  2. Open the File > Save As option
  3. Click Save As and choose Save as type CSV with headers
  4. Click Save to save the reports from the Power Builder application to the respective folder in the new share drive (fileshare.msu.edu) and access them locally.
