Before You Begin

You will need admin rights on your machine to follow these steps.

Steps

  1. Go to googleapps.msu.edu (link) and log in with your MSU NetID and password.
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper right of the screen.
  3. Select Get Drive for desktop.

  4. Double-click to open the GoogleDriveSetup.exe file that gets downloaded.
  5. On the first setup screen:
    1. Check both boxes.
    2. Select Install.
  6. Select Close.
  7. You're done! You've installed the Google Drive app to your machine.

Additional Info

Doing this adds Google Drive to your local computer so you do not have to open a browser to access your Google Drive.
