Objective

Following these steps will install the Perceptive Content Desktop Client on your machine.

Environment

 

Before You Begin

These steps require local administrator privileges. If you are not an administrator on your computer or do not feel comfortable installing or configuring software, please contact the Service Desk.

Steps

  1. Contact your local support group for the installation file
  2. Copy the ClientSetup_(version).exe file to your desktop
  3. Right-click on the file on your desktop
  4. Click Run as Administrator
  5. If a User Account Control windows pops up, click Yes to allow the program to make changes to your device
  6. Click OK to confirm the language choice
  7. If prompted, click Install to install the Microsoft Visual C++ requirement; this may take a few moments to install. Install Visual C++ requirement
  8. When next prompted, click Next to begin the installation
  9. Accept the Terms of the License Agreement
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the license agreement text and click I accept the terms in the license agreement
  11. Click Next
  12. Install the ImageNow Printer
  13. Click the Down Arrow next to ImageNow Printer and click This feature will be installed on local hard drive

  14. Click Next
  15. If prompted for connection profile information, enter the following:
    • Profile name: Production
    • Server name: client.imaging.esp.msu.edu
    • Port number: 6000
  16. Click Next
  17. Leave the Deployment Server URL text box blank.

  18. Click Next
  19. Select desired shortcut locations.

  20. Click Next
  21. Click Install
  22. Allow the installation a few minutes to complete. The installation may open and close a few pop-up windows while running - this is normal
  23. Click Finish
