Email Triggers are Being Deprecated in Qualtrics

Email Triggers in Qualtrics are being deprecated, however, there is not yet a direct timeline. Users will be notified far in advance once there is an official sunset date for the email triggers. Users will also be able to find notification of this on the product release notes website at https://community.qualtrics.com/search?publishedIn%5B0%5D=96. Qualtrics strongly recommends not using email triggers because they may not behave as intended, and there are no plans to develop any improvements for this feature.

Use Workflows Instead

For the same functionality with added improvements, you should use the Email Task feature under Workflows instead. The Email Task is actively supported, more reliable, and offers enhanced capabilities such as message translations, workflow reporting, and more flexible triggering options.

Workflows allow you to trigger tasks based on various events. Examples include creating a ticket when someone opts-out of your XM Directory, sending a follow-up email to a customer after a low satisfaction score. For both the inciting event and the resulting task, you have a lot of options, most of which are inside the Qualtrics platform and some of which are outside.
