D2L - How to Copy Components from One Course to Another - For Instructors

An instructor may want to re-use certain course modules that they have created in previous semesters. This article guides through how to accomplish that.

Objective

Following these steps will copy selected course modules into the D2L course of your choice, allowing you to re-use materials from other courses.

Steps

1. From the course you want to RECEIVE the copied components, select Course Admin
2. Select Import/Export/Copy Components
3. Keep the default selection: Copy Components from another Org Unit
4. Select Search for Offering
5. Enter some/all of the course name and select the magnifying glass icon or press ENTER to search
6. Select the course(s) that you want to copy content FROM, then select the blue Add Selected button at the bottom of the page
7. Select the appropriate button, Copy All Components, or Select Components
8. Continue through the prompts, selecting components as needed, to complete the copy
