Steps
- First, create a scheme to put the grades on a 4.0 scale
- Click on assessments> grades > schemes > new scheme.
- Name your new scheme
- Then start with 0.0 as the first symbol and put the highest percentage a 0.0% can receive in the assigned value column.
- You then move to 1.0 and put the start % as the lowest percentage a 1.0 can receive and the assigned value the highest percentage a 1.0 can receive.
- Keep repeating all the way up to a 4.0 and 100%.
- Once you have your scheme ready you then want to apply it to your final calculated grade.
- Select the down arrow next to the final calculated grade and select edit.
- In the grade scheme drop down select your new scheme you just created then save and close.
By default both
Points grade and
Grade scheme symbol should be checked under the
Display Options. If you have chosen to override the defaults, the letter grade may not get passed to the Registrar.
Grade scheme symbol must be checked for the students to see a letter grade for their final grade.
- Now you must release your final grades to students. (This step may no longer be required)
- The easiest way to do this is select the down arrow next to the final calculated grade and select enter grades.
- From there select the small drop down arrow next to the title Final Grades and then select “Release All”, that should put a checkmark in the Released column for all students.
- Then save and close.
- You should see an “eye” icon in the final calculated grade column now.
- The last step in D2L is to submit it to the registrar.
- Select Course Home from the navigation bar and then scroll down until you see the MSU Toolbox on the right column.
- You should see a link to where you can submit your grades.
- If you are getting an error message select the link where it says inventory tool and wait for it load. Then refresh your course home page in D2L. From there just follow the steps on the web page to submit.
