How to Send a Message to Your Entire Team
- Select the Teams Icon to display your teams
- Select the Down Arrow by the desired team
- Select the General tab
- Select the Conversations tab if that section is not already selected
- Enter your message in the message area
- Select the Send icon or press RETURN

How to Send a Message to One or More People
- Select the New Message icon
- Start typing the name of the person you wish to message (lastname, firstname generally works best) and a list of names should appear that match what you type. Select the name of the person you wish to message.
- A message window will appear. Enter your message and press RETURN or select the Send icon in the lower right.

How to View the Status of All Team Members Before Sending a Message
- Select the Teams icon on the left hand side of the window
- Right-click on your team name (ITS Messaging Team used in this example)
- Select Manage Team
- Your team will be displayed with the status of all team members
- Move your mouse over the person you wish to contact and then select the “Chat” icon to send a message to that person.
- A Window will open that will allow you to send to that person and display previous conversation history that you have had with that person. Simply type in the desired message and press the RETURN key.

How to Configure Notifications
Receiving notifications is based on a few factors. Each Team can have multiple Channels. When a team is setup there is normally a General channel. Other channels can easily be created for special projects or purposes as desired by selecting the ... by the team name and selecting Add channel.
To receive notifications for a specific channel select the ... by the channel name and select Follow this channel.
Notification Options are selected by selecting your picture icon in the lower left of Microsoft Teams and then selecting Settings.
Select the Notifications icon to display the different options for notifications.
