Student Information System - Error: "403 App Not Assigned" for Former Students Trying to Order Transcripts

After two years, Student Information System will not allow you to log back in. To order transcripts you will need to use the Office of the Registrar's website instead. This article details how.

Problem

When attempting to log in to Student Information System (student.msu.edu) to order a transcript, you receive an error: "403 App Not Assigned".

Environment

Student Information System
Students who have not been at MSU for 2 or more years

Resolution

Instead of attempting to log in to student.msu.edu, go to the Office of the Registrar's Transcript Request (link) webpage.

Cause

Access to the necessary system sunsets after a student is no longer at MSU.
