Error: "Data Integrity Error" in SIS Campus Solutions

SIS Campus Solutions sometimes throws a data integrity error. This may be a cache issue or it may be a problem on the back end. This article steps through what can be tried on the end user side.

Problem

When trying to access a part of SIS Campus Solutions (student.msu.edu), you receive an error:

Data Integrity Error (124.85)

The data structure from the page does not match the data structure in the database. This can be caused by a change in the record definition while you were viewing the page. This is a non-recoverable error and the current transaction will be aborted.

Resolution

1. Clear browser cache/cookies/temporary data, then restart the web browser

2. If the above does not work, try at least one of the following:
   • Test from a private/Incognito window from your preferred browser
     • See KB 1237 (link) for instructions for popular browsers
   • Test from a different web browser than what you used when you received the error
   • Test from a different device (phone, computer, or tablet) than what you used when you received the error
3. If you are still receiving the error, contact the IT Service Desk at (517)432-6200 for assistance

Cause

This error can either be caused by browser issues or something on the back end.
