Student Information System - Error: "Data Integrity Error"

SIS Campus Solutions sometimes throws a data integrity error. This may be a cache issue or it may be a problem on the back end. This article steps through what can be tried on the end user side.

Problem

When trying to access a part of the Student Information System (student.msu.edu), you receive an error:

Data Integrity Error (124.85)

The data structure from the page does not match the data structure in the database. This can be caused by a change in the record definition while you were viewing the page. This is a non-recoverable error and the current transaction will be aborted.

Resolution

1. Logout of your student information system session.
2. Clear browser cache/cookies/temporary data, then restart the web browser

3. If the above does not work, try at least one of the following:
   • Test from a private/Incognito window from your preferred browser
     • See KB 1237 (link) for instructions for popular browsers
   • Test from a different web browser than what you used when you received the error
   • Test from a different device (phone, computer, or tablet) than what you used when you received the error
4. If you are still receiving the error, contact the IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 for assistance

Cause

This error can either be caused by browser issues or something on the back end.
