CATV - Comcast (Xfinity) Streaming Application for On-Campus Residents

Summary

People living on-campus in dorms or SLE-run apartments have access to a streaming cable app to watch their Comcast content on a smart device.

Body

Anyone living in Student Life and Engagement (SLE) run housing, whether dorm or apartment, gets access. If your landlord is SLE, you should have access.

How Can I Access It?

Screenshot
  1. Go to xfinityoncampus.com.
  2. Start typing "Michigan State University" into the search bar.
  3. Select Michigan State University from the results that auto-populate
  4. Log in using your Okta credentials

It will provide an opportunity to download the application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Special Note Regarding HBO

HBO is included in this subscription, but can ONLY be accessed from the xfinityoncampus website. If you try to use your campus subscription on HBO.com or on the HBO app, you will receive an error: "Sorry, it looks like this network is not included in your Xfinity on Campus subscription". This is expected. Log in to the xfinityoncampus website and use the Watch Now feature to access HBO content.

403 App Not Assigned Error

This error indicates that you do not have access. Contact the IT Service Desk (ITSD) to submit a request for assistance.

How Do I get Help?

ITSD can help to reset Okta passwords, if for some reason you aren't able to reset it yourself at auth.msu.edu (see KB 401799 for instructions how to reset your password). Otherwise, see Xfinity's help site: xfinityoncampus.com/help.
