Body

Objective

Following these steps will guide a new user through the eLearning Athena training, necessary to getting access to the system.

Environment

Athena eLearning Portal (msuhealth.hc.msu.edu)

Before You Begin

After your Athena account has been created, there is a 24-hour delay before you will be able to log in and access the Athena eLearning Portal. Training will not be assigned until after 48 hours, however. So you can test your login after 24 hours, but will not be able to complete the training until after 48.

If you are unable to sign in 48 hours or more after you received the email notification stating you had been enrolled in training, please reach out to the MSU IT Service Desk by calling (517)432-6200 or by submitting a service request (link).

Steps

See the PDF attached, to the right, for detailed instructions. You can access the training after 48 hours by signing into MSU Health, selecting the department and Go, and then selecting Support and AthenaHealth Learning Portal, under resources. The eLearning training courses are designed to be completed by moving from course to course and completing them in the order displayed within each section. To ensure 100% course completion, all requirements within the training course must be completed, which includes:

  1. All course content sections; and
  2. All quizzes and quiz simulations completed to the required passing score

Curriculum Navigation and Progress

  • Courses with a green checkmark next to them have been completed successfully. When a completed course is selected a thumbs up icon will display stating "Your training is completed".

  • Courses without a green checkmark must still be completed. Selecting an incomplete course will display a spaceship icon and an option to launch the course.

  • Courses with Workshop in the title are not required. The following screenshot has them with a red line through the title.

Additional Info

eLearning training course completions require communication from several systems and sometimes that communication can be interrupted by leaving a course open for too long, internet connectivity issues, and Internet browser complications. When that communication is interrupted, courses may not mark complete as expected.
