Vulnerability Management

What Is the Service?

Vulnerability management is a continuous process that involves identifying, assessing, and remediating security weaknesses (vulnerabilities) in systems, applications, and software to reduce the risk of cyberattacks and data breaches. It's an ongoing effort to minimize the organization's attack surface and ensure the integrity of its IT infrastructure.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

Vulnerability management is intended to be used by departments for university-owned servers. The reporting from the outcomes of vulnerability scans is intended for IT administrators and other administrators within a given unit (MAU) who wish to see such reports.

How Do I Use It?

A great number of systems (servers) within the enterprise are already enrolled in and being scanned by Qualys Vulnerability Management Detection & Response (VMDR). If you wish to have your system or systems enrolled, file a ticket with your request including IP address(es)/IP ranges. If you need help understanding reports, need reports fixed, or want to ensure you start receiving reports, reaching out through the ticketing system with your name, department, and role will be a great start.
