MSU Unified Login Services

Onboarding Process Requirements

The process of onboarding an application to MSU Unified Login Services is a collaboration between the application owners and the IAM Platforms team, and requires active engagement from the MSU staff requesting the integration throughout the process. Requestors can expect that the IAM Platforms team will:

  • Work with them to help identify the best solution for their needs if there are any questions.
  • Respond in a timely manner to any requests for information.
  • Provide the information that will be required to configure the application.

And accordingly, it's expected that requestors will:

  • Provide all information required to configure the Authentication system.
  • Respond in a timely manner to any requests for additional required information.
  • Complete application configuration and testing in a timely manner.

Complete requests are normally able to be completely fulfilled within one week. More complicated requests, or those that require multiple rounds of information gathering and/or testing can take 2-4 weeks, even with engaged requestors.

Incomplete requests and those that do not provide necessary updates or requested information after multiple requests will be closed and need to be resubmitted when/if the integration is needed in the future.

It's also important to note that given the huge variety in Application-side configuration for single sign-on, the IAM Platforms team cannot offer detailed support on specific application configuration. We are happy to work with requestors to help interpret the configuration information we provide and provide best-effort assistance determining where that information needs to be updated, but that support is generally best provided by Application Vendors.
