What Is the Service?
Google Shared Drive is a collaborative storage solution designed for teams and organizations. Unlike individual Google Drive accounts, Shared Drives allow multiple users to own and manage files collectively, ensuring content remains accessible even if individual members leave. It supports seamless collaboration with shared permissions and access controls.
Who Is Eligible to Use It?
Google Shared Drive is available to MSU faculty and staff upon request. To request access, please use this form. Eligibility is based on organizational roles and requires administrative approval.
Note for Students:
- Students cannot request the creation of a Google Shared Drive directly.
- Any request submitted by a student will be automatically denied.
- To proceed, a faculty or staff member must submit the request on behalf of the student and act as their sponsor.
How Do I Use It?
Users can access a Shared Drive by logging into their MSU Google Workspace account. Navigate to Google Drive, select "Shared Drives" and select the desired drive. Files and folders can be uploaded, shared, and collaboratively edited within the drive.
