What Is the Service?

The university provides robust, high-speed fiber optic network connections across campus, forming the essential campus backbone for all data communications. This continuously expanding network infrastructure ensures reliable, uninterrupted, and swift data connectivity to support critical university operations, cutting-edge research, and the daily needs of the entire campus community. Our fiber network services are pivotal in maintaining seamless IT infrastructure and facilitating enterprise-level high-speed data connections.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

Fiber Optic Network support is available to all MSU departments requiring assistance with the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of the fiber optic infrastructure. Individual service requests are typically coordinated through our partners, including IPF PDC, Network Operations, and as part of Capital Projects.

How Do I Use It?

To request Fiber Optic Infrastructure support:

  • Report damaged or malfunctioning fiber links via TDX portal.
  • Request new Fiber Optic links or cabling installations via the TDX portal.
