PACS - How to Merge Exams and Patients Using Exam Manager

Objective

Following these steps will merge an exam/order or patient info in the Centricity PACS RA 1000 system.

Environment

Before You Begin

In order to access Exam Manager, you must have the following lines in your platinum_custom.properties file located under C:\platinum\support.com.ge.med.rumba.desktop.component.utility.delegate.useExamManager=truecom.ge.med.rumba.desktop.component.utility.delegate.workstationExamManager=true

Steps

Exam/Order Merge

  1. Log into Centricity PACS RA1000
  2. Click on Utilities in the bottom left hand corner.
  3. A number of tabs appears, click on the Exam Manager tab.
  4. A new login page will appear, log in using your PACS credentials.
  5. Click on Realocate & Merge.
  6. The default view is the Exam Merge Mode; this allows you to merge exams within the same patient ID. Enter the patient ID in the patient ID field and hit Enter.
  7. It will display a list of all the exams for that patient, scroll down until you find the source exam you are trying to merge into a different exam. You can also filter down by accession number, study date, and modality type. Click on that study and it should highlight blue.
  8. Locate the destination exam you are sending the above exam into. By default it will list all the exams for the patient ID you entered in the source exam filter.
  9. Once you’ve clicked on the destination exam, click on Preview Merge.
  10. Then click on Complete Merge. You’ll get a confirmation pop up. Click Yes.

Patient Merge:

  1. Repeat steps 1-5 from the above workflow.
  2. After going to the Realocate & Merge tab, click Switch to Patient Merge Mode.
  3. In the From Source Patient ID field, enter the patient ID for the patient you are looking to merge and click Find Patient. Note: If there are multiple patients that have the same sequence of numbers in their ID, it will pull up a list and ask you to specify which patient.
  4. Do the same thing for the To Destination Patient fields.
  5. Click on Preview Merge in the bottom left hand corner.
  6. It will highlight everything in red that is a mismatch between the two patients. If you are sure you want to proceed with the merge, click Complete Merge.
  7. You will get a prompt stating this action is irreversible, click Yes to continue.
