What is Spartan SharePoint?
Spartan SharePoint is MSU's version of Microsoft One SharePoint. All faculty, staff, and students that are on the CampusAD Domain will have access to 1 TB of storage (with a maximum file size of 250GB) on Spartan SharePoint which is accessible over the web, desktop, tablet or other mobile device.

Acceptable Use
While this product has been approved as HIPAA-compliant, it should not be used to store confidential data (social security numbers, credit cards, bank data and more). Information about confidential data at Michigan State is provided in the MSU Institutional Data Policy (link). Acceptable use information is currently listed in knowledge base support articles and will be listed in the service information about Spartan SharePoint at is added to tech.msu.edu.

Availability
- Spartan SharePoint is available to individual accounts for faculty, staff and students of Michigan State University.
- Spartan SharePoint is not available to purchased departmental/unit accounts.

Requesting a SharePoint Communication Site
You can request a SharePoint site be setup for your unit or organization thru the SharePoint Communication Site Form (link).

Sharing
Spartan SharePoint files can be shared with individuals at MSU or other specific people you indicate by email address. If you share a file or files with someone at MSU it will send them an email and prompt them to login with their MSU NetID and password. If they are not from MSU it will prompt them to login with a Microsoft account or create a Microsoft account to access the files.

Logging In
Go to office.com and login with your MSU NetID and password and then click on SharePoint. You may need to click the "waffle menu" at the top left before SharePoint will show as an option.

After logging in you can:
- Find and follow content with the Spartan SharePoint page;
- Create documents on your computer and edit on your laptop, phone, or tablet;
- Share files and photos with others; and
- Collaborate with friends on your Office documents at the same time.
