MSU Print - How to Print on MSU's Campus

Objective

Following these steps will enable you to print to a network printer from your device while on MSU's campus.

Environment

Before You Begin

You will need to:

  • be connected to the MSU Network either through the MSU VPN or while physically on-campus for print.msu.edu to be available; AND
  • have print credits available on your account. See KB 850 for instructions how to add credits to your account.

Steps

  1. Log in to https://print.msu.edu with your MSU NetID credentials.
  2. Select Web Print.
  3. Select Submit a Job.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Select the East Lansing Campus.
  5. Select print options (e.g., single- or double-sided, black & white or color).
    • All MSU Print printers can print single- or double-sided.
    • Black & white printer can only print in black & white.
    • Color printer can print in black & white or color.
  6. Select Print Options and Account Selection.
  7. Enter the number of copies and select Upload Documents.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  8. Select Upload from computer, select your file(s), and select Upload & Complete.
  9. Select Held in a queue (this may take a moment, the item in the screenshot below is queuing but not yet ready to print).Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  10. Select Print.
  11. Choose your printer.

Additional Info

Web Print is only available from MSU campus locations. Print jobs can be uploaded and released from anywhere on campus (using MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, JPG, and Plain Text File formats).
