What kind of network connection is available at either Spartan Village or University Village?
Answer
University Village
All University Village buildings and rooms have wireless access through MSUNet (version 3.0 as of this writing). The rooms all have ethernet connections as well.
University Village also has a MSU Computer Classroom. See the MSU Instructional Computing Facilities website for more information on MSU Computer Classrooms.
Spartan Village
All Spartan Village buildings and rooms have ethernet available. Wireless coverage is not universal however. The following buildings do not have wireless and must use ethernet instead: 1575, 1576, 1577, 1578, 1579, 1612, 1613, 1614, 1615, 1616, 1617, 1618, 1619, 1620, 1621, 1633, 1634, 1635, 1636, 1637, 1638, 1639, 1640, 1641, 1642, 1643, 1644, 1645, 1646, and 1647.
Occupants in these buildings may use personal routers to provide wireless within their rooms (normally personal routers are not officially supported).
