General Layout
Below is a screenshot of the Cognos Analytics Home screen as you first open it.
The banner on the left side controls navigation. The middle of the screen can contain up to 20 recently used items. Quick references such as overview and get started videos as well as sample data are listed on the right of the screen.
The icons on the left are as follows:
- Home – takes you back to the home screen from anywhere in the application.
- Search – allows you to search for content by name.
- My content – Create your own folders to contain report views and content that you commonly use. Scheduled report views are stored here as well.
- Team content – Access standard reports by topic, such as Finance, HR/Payroll, and Budget.
- Recent – Access recently used content from this handy shortcut.
- New – Access tools such as Dashboard, Story, and Cognos classic tools such as Query Studio and Analysis Studio.
