Advance Web was replaced with the Ascend product here

Login is via Okta. Access requests go to Advancement.
Some users still have read-only access to Advance Web for reporting.
To reset an AdvanceWeb password, you must download and setup the Windows software based on the following instructions (note: Service Desk analysts can use a Windows image through vdi.msu.edu for this setup):
- Connect to the Campus F5 VPN
- Download the Oracle Database Client Windows 32bit, from: https://michiganstate.sharepoint.com/:u:/r/sites/ITSServiceDesk/Shared%20Documents/Public/Software%20Downloads/AdvanceWeb/Oracle_19c-32bit.zip?download=1
- Unzip the file, navigate to ...\Oracle_19c32bit\client32, right-click on the 'setup' application, and Run As Administrator.
- Choose a Custom installation.
- Click through next until you're prompted for the installation components.
- Select the following components to install:
- Oracle Java Client
- SQL * Plus
- Oracle JDBC/THIN Interfaces
- Oracle Call interface (oci)
- Oracle Net
- Oracle ODBC Driver
- Oracle SQL Developer
- Click through Next >> Finish.
- Download and place the tnsnames.ora file into Oracle folder using the following path: C:\app\client\"Your Profile Name"\product\19.0.0\client_1\network\admin
NOTE : The ...\product\19.0.0 folder may have more than one 'client' folder. If ...\network\admin is not present in 'client_1' check the others.
- Add the "TNS_ADMIN" system variable:
- Open the Start Menu, search for the app This PC, right-click on it, and select Properties.
- Go to "Advanced system settings"
- Go to Advanced tab and click on "Environment Variables"
- Under System variables, click "New":
- Variable Name: TNS_ADMIN
- Variable Value: C:\app\"Your Profile Name"\product\19.0.0\client_1\network\admin
NOTE : Make sure to specify the correct \client_X folder for this value. It must be the same file path as the ORA file (refer to step 3).
- Click Ok
- Download the following link and put it on your desktop: Advance link
- Note: if the link downloads as "Advance.download" place it on your desktop but change the extension from download to ".lnk" instead.
- After clicking on the link you logon using your "campusad\NetID" and password to first run the application. After executing the link, you're then prompted to logon using your own Advance credentials.
Download and install AdvanceWeb on Windows OS:
To uninstall AdvanceWeb, look for the files unins000.exe and unins000.dat. They should be in the Config_Util_Prod folder.
