Overview
Zoom Rooms bring beautiful, simple, scalable video conferencing with wireless content sharing and integrated audio to any meeting space – conference rooms, training rooms, huddle rooms, classrooms, and executive offices. Zoom Rooms is a software-based video conferencing system which uses off-the-shelf, hardware for cameras, speakers, and monitors – making it the most flexible video solution for any of your rooms. Easily connect to participants on mobile devices, desktops, H.323 systems, SIP systems, and other Zoom Rooms.

Requirements for a Zoom Room
To deploy a full Zoom Room, your Zoom account must include Zoom Rooms licenses or the free 30 day trial of Zoom Rooms. To purchase a license, submit a service request (link) to the IT Service Desk.
The setup of a Zoom Room is where its flexibility shines. The main components you need to set up your own Zoom Room are as follows:
- Conferencing Camera
- EX. Logitech Meetup, AVer CAM520, PanaCast 2, etc.
- Microphone
- EX. Polycom, MXL AC-404, Revolabs UC 500, etc.
- Speaker
- EX. Polycom, Plantronics Calisto, Crestron Mercury, etc.
- Controller
- EX. Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1”, Crestron Mercury, etc.
- Display
- EX. Dell OptiPlex 7450, other touchscreen displays, other non-touchscreen displays, HD TVs, etc.
- Computer
- EX. Dell OptiPlex 7050, Apple Mac Mini, Intel NUC Kit, Apple Mac Pro, etc.

Once the hardware of a Zoom Room has been set up, you will want to download the Zoom Rooms software to your computer and the Zoom Rooms app to your controller. This program will allow your room system to work with Zoom Rooms, and allow the room to be controlled from the controller. For testing purposes, you can deploy a test Zoom Rooms setup that will allow you to start a test meeting or join a meeting with limited functionality without purchasing Zoom Rooms licenses.
