Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) - How To Prevent Automatic Updates of Firefox ESR

Objective

Following these steps will turn off Firefox ESR's automatic update feature.

Environment

FireFox ESR

Before You Begin

Firefox ESR is set to auto-update when newer versions are released. Because this automatic upgrade can occur before EBS has an opportunity to review its compatibility, it is recommended that you to disable Firefox's automatic update feature.

Do not update to a newer Firefox ESR version until EBS provides confirmation that the update is compatible.

Steps

1. Open Firefox ESR.
2. Select Open Menu in the upper right-hand corner, and then select Options.
3. Select Advanced.
4. Select Update .
5. Select Never check for updates.
6. Select OK at the bottom of the screen to save this change.
7. Close and restart Firefox to save and confirm this change.
