How do I know when I have pending actions that must be acted upon?

  • You will receive an email notification when a routing slip is created or moves to a routing action on which you are an actor.
  • You can manually check the Dashboard's Pending Actions list.

I am authorized to approve/review many different forms. Do I have to check multiple Pending Actions lists or do all the forms fall into one list for me?

All your pending actions are displayed and accessible from one Pending Actions list. Form types are intermixed. You can sort the list in several ways to facilitate the approval process. For example, you can sort on form Title to group each type of form together.

I will be out of town or on vacation for a week. What happens to the forms in my Pending Actions list while I am gone? Can someone else approve them in my absence? Can I approve my step ahead of the current step?

Routing actions will remain unchanged unless there is another actor who can approve. Routing actions can only be approved for the current step. If you know you will be gone when a form will be routed, set up another approver to avoid stalled slips.

A form was in my Pending Actions list and all of a sudden it disappeared. Where did it go?

Another approver took action on it.

Can I suppress the display of slips on the Pending Actions page so that an Org Unit's backup signer does not see these slips unless the primary signer is unavailable?

No. FTU does not support the ability to activate or deactivate a user's "delegate" role for a group, or the ability to turn on/off email notification for backup signers. It would defeat the purpose of having delegates in the first place — "turning off" delegates would effectively reduce groups to one member which could bottleneck the approval process. Sorting by Reference can help.

Why am I being asked to approve a slip twice?

You are responsible for more than one action on the routing slip, or someone added you as an additional approver when you were already on the route.
