Organization of Interest (OOI) - General Information

Overview

OOI is a Kuali component of EBS. OOI is used for Organization changes. In addition to providing Organization Codes for university units, the OOI system provides the ability to create many relationships between those units and different organizational structures. It also allows for the creation of both university-defined orgs (U1s), and orgs defined by units (sub-orgs).

Historic Orgs

Historic orgs from the common unit code system (D03), not previously available in OOI, are now in OOI as of 8/25/2015. In addition, an historic relationship of relationship type HIST has been added to OOI to improve the reporting of trend data. The HIST relationship maps inactive units to the currently active unit. This will add new rows to views, which may be visible in BI Cognos Report prompts. Selecting one of these newly loaded units in a report prompt will return no data. For those historical units that do not map to currently active units, OOI now contains active discontinued units. These units will also show in prompts, but won't return data. MSUEDW users can see and use the mapping in OOI_OOI_ORG_HIST_RELATION_RV.
