SharePoint - Resolving SharePoint Sync Issue as a SharePoint Admin

Problem

When attempting to access SharePoint resources that you normally have access to you are being prompted to request access.

Resolution

  1. Search for the Security Group/User:
    • Navigate to the affected SharePoint site.
    • Go to Site Settings > Site Permissions.
    • Use the “Check Permissions” tool or search manually for the security group or user experiencing the issue.
  2. If the Group/User Is Found:
    • Remove the group/user from the SharePoint site permissions.
    • Wait a few minutes (to ensure changes propagate).
    • Re-add the group/user with the appropriate permission level.
  3. Verification:
    • Confirm that the group/user now has the expected access.
    • Test functionality to ensure the issue is resolved.
