How to Change What Folders from Spartan Drive are Synced to Your Windows 10 Machine

Objective

Following these steps will allow you to change which folders from your Spartan Drive account are automatically synced to your Windows device.

Environment

Windows 10

Before You Begin

Windows 10 already has the appropriate sync client installed. For other versions of Windows, see this support.microsoft.com page (link) for assistance. The default setting is for all files and folders to be synced.

Steps

  1. Select the OneDrive icon from your systray (next to the computer clock) and then select the gear icon from the menu that pops up
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Select the Account menu from the left side of the window that opens up
  4. Next to OneDrive - Michigan State University, select the Choose folders button
  5. On the Choose folders window, select the folders you wish to keep synced, or select Make all files available to sync everything
  6. After making all necessary changes, select OK to save them

Additional Info

If disk space becomes an issue, you can also change how files are synced, not just which folders. See this support.microsoft.com page (link) for details.
