F5 Campus VPN - Setting up the F5 Campus VPN for Apple iOS

Objective

Following these steps will install and configure the software necessary to connect to MSU's virtual private network (VPN) on your iOS device.

Environment

iOS
BIG-IP Edge VPN Client (F5)

Before You Begin

See KB 36 (link) for the requirements to access MSU's VPN.

Steps

1. Navigate to the App Store and search for F5 Access.
2. Select the app and tap GET.

3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
4. Allow notifications because they are required for the app to complete the login process.

5. Tap Add New.

6. Enter vpn.msu.edu as the server and ensure Web Logon is enabled.
7. Allow the F5 Access app to add a VPN connection to iOS.
   Screenshot

   

8. Enter your device PIN to authenticate.
9. Tap the Connection toggle switch to enable the VPN connection.

10. Enter your NetID and password.
11. Complete two-factor authentication.
12. You're done! You are now connected to the Campus VPN on your iOS device.
