Objective
Following these steps will reset the password used for ePrescribe using the AthenaNet portal.
Environment
AthenaNet portal
EPCS
Before You Begin
Make sure you have your two-factor authentication (2FA) credential available (likely Symantec VIP Access on a phone), as you will need to enter a security code for this process.
Understand that two passwords are at issue:
- First is the MSU NetID password, used when logging in to Athena.
- Second is the e-prescribe password, used when ordering prescriptions, which is what we are changing here.
The e-prescribe password is maintained by Athena directly, which is why it likely, but not necessarily, differs from your MSU NetID password.
Steps
- Login to athena/MSUHealth using your MSU NetID and password
- See KB 1085 (link) if you need help resetting this password.
- Select the Settings (gear) icon and select User Profile
- Select the Password tab
- Enter the 2FA security code from the Symantec VIP Access app (same used for EPCS)
- Enter the new password twice
- This cannot be the same as the previous AthenaOne password.
- Password requirements:
- No words
- At least 8 characters long
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number or special character
- A new page may open, taking you to the MSU sign in page
- You're done!
