TeamViewer - How to Request Access for New Users

Objective

Following these steps will submit a request for someone to get access to use TeamViewer to assist customers remotely on their machines.

Before You Begin

You do not need to request access to allow a technician to connect to your machine remotely. This access is for the technicians

Steps

  1. Go to the Access Management Service Offering (link)
  2. Select Request next to Default Form (you may need to scroll down to see this)
  3. Add all users to the request that need the access:
    1. On the new screen that opens, use the User Search field to search for the person you wish to receive the new access.
      • You can use their name or NetID for the search.
      • You can enter partial names as well
    2. Select Search
    3. Select the drop-down box labeled Please Select to choose from the returned list of results for your search
    4. Select Add User to add them to the request
    5. Repeat for any additional users needing this access
  4. Under Select Access, fill out the remaining fields:
    • Description of Requested Access - use this field to indicate that TeamViewer access is needed for the selected users
    • Checkbox - you must check to fill this box, indicating the users receiving the access have read the MSU Insititutional Data Policy and printed and signed the acknowledgement form.
    • Business Need / Comments - briefly indicate why the access is needed
  5. Select Check Form to check if everything is sufficiently filled out
  6. Once the form passes this test, select Submit Access Request
  7. You're done! The request is submitted and will be reviewed and acted upon in the order it was received.
