MATLAB - How To Install MATLAB

Objective

Following these steps will install MATLAB locally on your machine and link it to your MSU account.

Steps

  1. Go to this Mathworks webpage (link)

  2. Select Sign in to get started
  3. Enter your MSU email address and select Next

  4. Authenticate through the standard MSU login screen

  5. Create a MathWorks Account by filling in your information and choosing your Department and What describes your role?

  6. Select Next
  7. You will go to a screen indicating your university’s license is linked to your MathWorks account. You should also receive an email from MathWorks indicating the same.
  8. Select Get Started

  9. Select Install MATLAB

  10. Select Download for Windows

  11. Find and open the matlab_<version>_Windows.exe file that was downloaded
  12. If prompted, allow the installed to make changes to your system
  13. Enter your MSU email address
  14. Select Next

  15. Authenticate through the standard MSU login screen
  16. Select Yes to accept the terms of the license and then select Next

  17. Keep the defaults for the Licensing and Destination screens and select Next on each
  18. Check the box next to the products you wish to install and select Next

  19. Choose the Options you need and then select Next
  20. Select Begin Install to start the installation with the options you chose
  21. After the installation finishes, select Close
  22. You’re done! You have linked your MSU account to MathWorks and installed MATLAB on your machine.
