Spartan 365 - How to Add a Spartan Mail Account to Windows Mail

Objective

Following these steps will add your Spartan Mail account to a local Windows 10 Mail app.

Environment

Windows 10
Win10 Mail Client

Before You Begin

Note that email clients such as Windows Mail (currently) that support modern authentication will work with the Spartan / Microsoft 365 service on a self-support basis.

However, if you are no longer licensed for the use of the MS Outlook client for Windows, the BEST options is to use the Outlook Web Application (OWA) through a web browser, at https://spartanmail.msu.edu.

Steps

  1. Select the Windows icon in the lower left.
  2. Select Mail.
  3. Select the plus ( + ) sign in the dialog.
  4. Select Exchange and follow the prompts.
    • Enter your MSU email address in the form of NetID@msu.edu
    • Enter your password (must be less than 365 days old).
  5. You're done! You've added your Spartan Mail account to Win10 Mail.
