Network - Troubleshooting 127.0.0.1 IP Addresses

Problem

Your device cannot connect to network resources and the IP address shows as 127.0.0.1

Environment

Wired (ethernet) network connections

Resolution

Check that your ethernet cable is securely attached both to your device as well as to the network port in the wall. If it was secure, try using a different ethernet cable and see if the behavior persists.

Cause

127.0.0.1 is a special IP address used for the device to communicate with itself.
