Problem
When attempting to log in to elearn.hc.msu.edu (Athena training), you get an error: "The Shibboleth Authentication System Experienced a Technical Failure".

Resolution
Re-type the URL: http://elearn.hc.msu.edu and try again. This should clear the issue.
Cause
This appears to be a result of caching issue that typically comes up right after logon or after the logon session times out.
