Technicians can submit changes by using one of the two options:
Option 1: On the Technician Desktop, within the Technician Quick Links section, select the
Create a Change
button.
Option 2: Select the
Tickets tab
or select
Tickets
from the Applications Menu in the upper left-hand corner.
Select the
+New
button and select
Change Form
.
Fill in all required ticket information using the
Change Ticket Anatomy guide
.
After you select the
Save
button, use the "
View the change your just created
" link to return to your change.
You must create a maintenance activity to add the change to the Change Calendar and allow the workflow to continue.
From the
+Add
menu, select
Maintenance Activity
.
Complete the following New Maintenance Activity fields:
Title:
Change Order # - Change Type - Order Summary (See example below)
Example: 316 - Normal - Export DC Oracle routes to OCI on Chicago routers CI
Start Date:
Enter schedule Start Date and Time
Due Date:
Enter schedule End Date and Time
Responsible:
Change Release Owner from the change
Assets/CIs: Select the down arrow under Assets/CI and select the CI(s) listed. This list is populated from the CIs you selected on the change.
Ensure there are no Detected Conflicts before proceeding. Note: Change Deferment Windows will also be shown here as well.
Select the
Save
button to finish creating the maintenance activity.
On the change screen, locate the Create
Maintenance Activity Workflow Task
, and select
Mark Complete
to reflect that you have completed the task.
Once the change has been implemented, select the
Appropriate Closure Code
Locate the pending Maintenance Activity and select
Mark Complete.
The change order workflow will update the status to resolve.
