SIS Financial Aid Portal - Error: "There has been an error validating your user credentials. Please contact your system administrator"

Problem

When trying to access the financial aid portal and select your student's name, you receive an error saying: "There has been an error validating your user credentials. Please contact your system administrator."

Environment

SIS Campus Solutions (student.msu.edu)

Resolution

The STUDENT must:

1. Login at student.msu.edu
2. Select the Financial Aid tile
3. Select Financial Aid Portal on the left side of the screen
4. Select the Open Financial Aid Portal button that appears
5. On the Financial Aid home screen, select their Name in the top-right corner and choose Profile
6. On the Profile page, scroll down to Manage Guest Access
7. In the Add/Edit Guest Portal Access section, select the Add Guest icon
8. Enter the Guest Email Address
9. Select to fill the Proxy/Guest checkbox
10. Select the Save icon
11. You're done!

Cause

This error is likely caused by the student granting access in the SIS Campus Solutions system, at student.msu.edu, but not also adding access in the SIS Student Financial Portal (SFP) system.
