Overview
During the 2021-22 academic year vendor expectations on compliance with licensing terms of service were tightened. The more current authentication and ID Management systems in place have allowed the institution to come into full compliance - affecting mainly access post-employment or post-attendance to both Zoom and to Office 365 licensing.
For most retired MSU faculty/staff, the same is true with Office 365 licensing, although that has about a 14 day grace period. There is little other access that is affected by the non-active status beyond Zoom and 365. Follow the steps below to handle a business/academic related need for access to either service be provided to those with a no-pay faculty position or for Temp/On-Call staff position.
Zoom Licensing
The centrally licensed access to Zoom is lost as soon as active employment or attendance for credit status has ended.
Emerit retain licensing.
When there is an MSU business case to be made for continued access to Zoom, a department can "sponsor" the access. Submit a Default Form from the Access Management Service Offering Page (link) specifying the request to add Zoom licensing to the individual's NetID. Use the Comments field to provide a business case regarding the need related to MSU business or academic pursuits.
