How to Find Your APID / Student Number in StuInfo - For Students that Graduated Fall 2021 or Earlier

Objective

Following the steps below will help you locate your student APID in the StuInfo system, which you may need for verification or registration purposes.

Environment

StuInfo (stuinfo.msu.edu)
Students that graduated before Fall Semester 2021 may only have this information in StuInfo

Before You Begin

You will need your NetID password to log in to StuInfo. See KB 1085 (link) for instructions to reset the password if needed.

Steps

  1. Navigate to stuinfo.msu.edu
  2. Log in with your MSU NetID and password
  3. Select Account detail from the QUICK LINKS menu on the left
  4. Your student APID will be displayed in the upper-right corner in the format A########
  5. You're done! You've successfullly located your student APID

Additional Info

APIDs are eventually going to be replaced by Student Numbers, which will begin with a '1', instead of 'A'. Existing APIDs will be converted by simply changing the leading 'A' to a '1'.

MSU NetIDs are assigned to all current faculty, staff, students and retirees. A NetID is a unique alphanumeric identifier auto-generated from the user's name. Your NetID is your personal identifier at MSU and serves as your login to many university computing and networking services. Your NetID also determines your MSU email address which is netid@msu.edu (e.g. the NetID msuspartan would have the email address msuspartan@msu.edu).
