Objective
Following these steps will download and install the Windows BIG-IP Edge client used to connect to MSU's Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Before You Begin
If you have not logged in to the VPN before, you will need to. See KB 36 for instructions.
The thick client is not required to access the VPN. You can use a browser and log in to vpn.msu.edu without it
Steps
- Log in to vpn.msu.edu and confirm your identiy using your multi-factor authentication (MFA) credential.
- Under "Download Thick Client", select Windows Client. The file should automatically download.
- Open the downloaded file (BIGEdgeClient.exe)
- Select Next
- Select Install
- When prompted to allow the app to make changes to your device, select Yes
- Select Finish
- You're done! The BIG-IP Edge Client is now downloaded and installed on your device. It will appear in your list of applications.
The first time you launch the newly installed client it will install some additional components automatically.
Additional Info
When using the BIG-IP Edge Client to connect, you do not need to navigate to vpn.msu.edu. Launch the app and log in to connect to the VPN.
When running, there will be an F5 icon in the systray. You can use that icon to connect, disconnect, and monitor your VPN sessions.
Optional Software Center (SCCM) Thick Client installation
Windows computers part of MSU IT's SCCM can download the application directly from it. Click on the Windows/Start button and search for the Software Center application. Select Applications and then choose BIG IP Edge Client to install the application.
After the installation completes, restart your computer.
