Virtual Private Network (VPN)

What Is the Service?

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is used to secure remote access to internal-only (non-public) services. MSU faculty and staff need to connect to trusted computing resources from remote networks across the general public Internet. VPN provides secure remote access and protects these communications across untrusted networks.
Out of Band: Internal-only VPN service for DR and other attack scenarios when the main campus VPN or internet is unavailable.

Features: Split-tunnel configuration preserves optimal routing to cloud services while enabling secure remote access to private networks.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is provided automatically to all faculty, staff, and students.

Rates

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is centrally funded and is provided to users at no additional charge.
