Before You Begin
It is strongly recommended to use the Okta Verify mobile application for two-factor (2FA) authentication. See KB 957 (link) for instructions to register Okta Verify as your credential.
However, the F5 Campus VPN two-factor authentication also works with SMS text messages or voice call credentialing. If that is your preferred method, the steps below will allow you to use them. You can set one up using the instructions in KB 1113 (link).
Steps
When logging on to either the BIG-IP Edge Client program, or through the vpn.msu.edu website, follow these steps to use SMS/voice for 2FA when prompted:
- Click Use another option to Sign In
- Click Don't have a security code?.
- At the "Get a Security Code" prompt, select your registered credential and click Continue.
- Submit the received Security Code.
