Objective
Following these steps will guide a new user through the eLearning Athena training, necessary to getting access to the system.
Environment
Athena eLearning Portal (msuhealth.hc.msu.edu)
Before You Begin
After your Athena account has been created, there is a 24-hour delay before you will be able to log in and access the Athena eLearning Portal. Training will not be assigned until after 48 hours, however. So you can test your login after 24 hours, but will not be able to complete the training until after 48.
If you are unable to sign in 48 hours or more after you received the email notification stating you had been enrolled in training, please reach out to the MSU IT Service Desk by calling (517)432-6200 or by submitting a service request (link).
This article is specific to eLearning training courses and does not apply to athena Classroom courses.
See the PDF attached, to the right, for detailed instructions. You can access the training after 48 hours by signing into MSU Health, selecting the department and Go, and then selecting Support and AthenaHealth Learning Portal, under resources.
eLearning training courses are designed to be completed by moving from course to course and completing them in the order displayed within each section.
Steps
To ensure 100% course completion, all requirements within the training course must be completed, which includes:
- All course content sections; and
- All quizzes and quiz simulations completed to the required passing score
If you unintentionally move past the quiz section without completing the quiz to the required passing score and then to the end of the course, thus forcing the left-hand course progress bar to display '100% COMPLETE', the course will not update to 'Completed' until the quiz is passed to the required score.
Additional Info
eLearning training course completions require communication from several systems and sometimes that communication can be interrupted by leaving a course open for too long, internet connectivity issues, and Internet browser complications. When that communication is interrupted, courses may not mark complete as expected.
Re-launching a course or launching a different course can serve as general communication that will process prior completions. This manual communication option is always available to a user.
