How to Create or Remove a Development Course or Community in D2L - For Instructors

Objective

The instructions below will explain how to remove select Course Offerings from D2L. For instructions on creating course offerings, refer to the Additional Information section further down the page.

Note: This process only applies to development, community, non-credit, and professional development offerings. Official Registrar Office courses cannot be manually deleted; they are removed by system administrators in accordance with the university's Data Retention Policy.

Before You Begin

To delete a course or community in D2L, you must log in using the account that created it or an account with appropriate administrator permissions.

Steps

  1. Log in to D2L from the account that created the Course Offering
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner of D2L
  3. Select Course Management
  4. Under Find Course Offerings set the "Role" drop-down box to the appropriate role for the course type: either CommunityAdmin, DevCourseAdmin, or OrgUnit Admin.
  5. Select Search
  6. Scroll through the results and select the check box to the left of the title of the Course Offering you wish to delete
  7. Select the Delete Selected button (or you can Select the trash can icon to the right of the course)
